Islamabad: (RightNow) The 60-day period for the US-Iran ceasefire under the Islamabad MoU has ended. The agreement required talks to conclude within 60 days, but they have stalled.

The negotiation period between Iran and the US was set on June 17, with Pakistan and Qatar mediating. This agreement had raised hopes for ending the conflict ongoing since February.

There is no official confirmation of an extension to the agreement yet. Despite the failure of talks between the US and Iran, Pakistan and Qatar continue their efforts.

The agreement included ending military actions, addressing nuclear programs, and frozen assets. Coordination groups were formed to resolve these issues.

It is noteworthy that Iran has accused the US of violating the agreement. Iranian officials claim the US breached the terms, negating the need for an extension.
