World: (RightNow) YouTube has revised its monetization policy, presenting creators with new targets. These changes may make it harder for new creators to join the Partner Program on YouTube.

With billions of users, the platform offers creators opportunities to earn through channel memberships, ads, and Super Chat. Under the new rules, the watch time requirement for long videos is set at 8 thousand hours.

According to the company, these conditions will be effective from February 1, 2027. For Shorts monetization, the target is now 20 million views in 90 days, doubled from the previous 10 million views.

It is clear that over 200 billion Shorts videos are watched daily on YouTube. The company states these changes align with the platform’s growing activities.

Remember, due to these changes, new creators will need to work harder to join and remain in the Partner Program. Those relying on Shorts will face larger targets to meet.
