Mustafa Kamal announces street protests demanding Karachi’s development and power devolution.
Karachi: (RightNow) Mustafa Kamal has announced that MQM Pakistan will protest on the streets. He states that after efforts in parliament, the struggle will now focus on transferring powers to the grassroots level.
During a press conference in Karachi, Mustafa Kamal criticized the Sindh government. He mentioned that Lahore’s development has left Karachi behind and lawlessness is at its peak in Sindh.
Mustafa Kamal highlighted that health facilities in Sindh are inadequate, with children being affected by dog bites. He noted that a constitutional amendment was proposed but not accepted.
He stated that MQM Pakistan has decided to protest within constitutional limits. He claims that creating new provinces is essential for transferring powers to the grassroots level.
It is noteworthy that Karachi generates 50% of Pakistan’s revenue but has not received adequate development funds for the past 18 years. Mustafa Kamal said they will present their case to the public with arguments.
