New Delhi: (RightNow) During ongoing student protests in India, renowned athletes have voiced their support for the students. Sachin Tendulkar, Yuvraj Singh, and Olympic gold medalist Abhinav Bindra have called for a transparent and merit-based education system.

Tendulkar, referencing his father, stated that failure is acceptable but deceit is not. He emphasized that society should value hard work over results to avoid shortcuts.

He further added that India’s youth are full of dreams, and it is society’s responsibility to reward hard work. Bindra stated that education should be above politics.

Olympic silver medalist Mirabai Chanu also supported the protesters, stating that the student protest in Delhi is justified. She expressed concern over unfortunate incidents.

It is noteworthy that former Indian players Mohammad Kaif and Yuvraj Singh have condemned the use of police force on students. They stated that students have the right to education in a safe environment.
