Lahore: (RightNow) Monsoon rains have set records in several districts of Punjab. The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) reports that Lahore has recorded 383 mm of rainfall.

According to PDMA Punjab, Gujranwala received 328 mm, Sialkot 321 mm, and Narowal 270 mm of rain. Murree recorded 211 mm, Mandi Bahauddin 177 mm, and Gujrat 144 mm of rainfall.

Further districts include Hafizabad with 108 mm, Mangla with 102 mm, and Chakwal with 96 mm of rain. Sheikhupura recorded 85 mm, Okara 72 mm, and Jhang 66 mm of rainfall.

Under the direction of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, monitoring of rivers and barrages is ongoing. Her measures have improved drainage in affected areas.

It is noteworthy that in anticipation of monsoon rains, Punjab cities are being monitored with Safe City cameras to promptly address any emergencies.
