Finance Minister Aurangzeb meets US Exim Bank President to boost economic cooperation. Strategic framework signing expected in September 2026.
Islamabad: (RightNow). Federal Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb met with US Exim Bank President John Juano in Washington D.C. The meeting focused on enhancing economic and trade cooperation between Pakistan and the US.
During the meeting, discussions were held on providing financial resources for long-term development projects and promoting US investment. Cooperation in sectors such as cotton, soybeans, and hydrocarbons was also discussed.
The Finance Minister appreciated Exim Bank’s financial support, US financing, and the acquisition of modern technology. He termed it a significant step towards strengthening economic relations between the two countries.
Both parties agreed to appoint focal persons to enhance short-term financial transactions and improve communication. Emphasis was placed on finalizing the strategic framework soon.
It is noteworthy that the strategic framework is expected to be signed during the United Nations General Assembly session in September 2026, further stabilizing bilateral economic relations.
