Chitral: (RightNow) Pakistani mountaineers have successfully crossed the historic Phargam Pass in the Hindu Kush after 27 years. This achievement was accomplished by the Pakistani team on a peak 5,100 meters high.

For the first time, female mountaineers also reached the summit of Phargam Pass. Three sisters from Chitral participated in the expedition, setting a new example.

The expedition included Mahrosh Akhtar, Ismail Rose, Madhu Shala Akhtar, among other members. The mission was completed in Upper Chitral with the support of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Culture and Tourism Authority.

During the expedition, the memorial of Austrian mountaineer George Kronberger, who died in 1975, was also discovered.

It is noteworthy that due to climate change, the route of Phargam Pass has significantly altered compared to the past.
