Islamabad: (RightNow) Pakistan and China have signed nearly $1 billion in investment and trade agreements at the Pharma Conference. Federal Health Minister Dr. Malik Mukhtar Ahmed Bharth stated this is the largest partnership in Pakistan’s health sector history.

During the conference’s closing session, it was revealed that $850 million in trade partnerships were finalized. Sixteen trade agreements are valued at $600 million, while 18 memorandums of understanding are worth $250 million.

The Health Minister said these agreements are practical steps to develop the health sector. The arrival of over 150 industrial experts from China demonstrates trust in bilateral cooperation.

He further mentioned that investors will be facilitated with regulatory approvals, licenses, and registrations. The SIFC will oversee the Pakistan-China pharma projects.

It is noteworthy that this partnership under CPEC is part of efforts to improve Pakistan’s health sector. Efforts are ongoing to elevate Pakistan’s pharma industry to international standards.
