Supreme Court warns Rajpal Yadav with jail for failing to pay ₹2 crore in check bounce case.
New Delhi: (RightNow) Bollywood actor Rajpal Yadav faces Supreme Court’s ire in a check bounce case. The court had ordered him to deposit ₹2 crore within two weeks, but the payment was not made on time.
During the hearing, Yadav’s lawyer discussed the complainant’s financial condition, prompting the Justice to sternly remark, ‘Your place is in jail.’ The court expressed deep concern over the delay.
Yadav is now ordered to deposit the amount by Tuesday. The court made it clear that non-compliance will result in strict action.
This case dates back to 2010 when checks for ₹5 crore, obtained for a film, bounced. The incident has now led to legal troubles.
