PMDC removes MDcat requirement for foreign medical admissions, enhancing opportunities for Pakistani students.
Islamabad: (RightNow). The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has decided to remove the MDcat requirement for admissions to foreign medical and dental institutions. This decision exempts Pakistani students from the MDcat exam.
The council made this decision in a meeting held on September 14. PMDC confirmed through a public notice that MDcat is no longer mandatory for foreign admissions.
PMDC received a letter from Health Minister Mustafa Kamal mentioning alleged irregularities in the MDcat test. PMDC has decided to seek legal advice on the matter.
This decision is significant for Pakistani students as it opens doors to foreign educational institutions. Removing the MDcat requirement provides students with more opportunities.
It is noteworthy that the Federal Health Minister had taken notice of alleged irregularities in the MDcat conducted in Sindh and instructed PMDC to report on the matter.
