Washington: (RightNow) The United States has decided to impose sanctions on the International Criminal Court (ICC) over the arrest warrant for Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu. This move could severely impact the financial and daily operations of the court in The Hague.

In November 2024, the court issued warrants for Netanyahu and a former defense minister for war crimes in Gaza. Neither the US nor Israel is a member of the court and both do not recognize its jurisdiction.

According to the US State Department, the sanctions will prevent American citizens and companies from providing funds or services to the ICC.
