China: (RightNow). Chinese Mukbang influencer Young Ying, known on social media, has died at the age of 24. Her parents confirmed her death on September 4, but the cause remains undisclosed.

Young Ying had over 1 million social media followers and was famous for eating large quantities in Mukbang videos. She mentioned that eating more increased her viewer count.

In her last video shared on August 14, she noted a severe drop in her blood potassium levels. Her potassium level fell to 2.3 mmol/L, leading to her hospitalization.

It is important to note that after Young Ying’s death, the Mukbang trend and its potential health risks are being debated again. Some reports suggest heart failure as the cause, but her family has not confirmed this.

Reports indicate that Young Ying claimed to eat 60 to 70 eggs in a live stream. Potassium deficiency can cause irregular heartbeats.
