Cairo: (RightNow) A 3,200-year-old inscription has been discovered near Tell Abu Seifi in the northern Sinai desert. The inscription mentions Ramses II, suggesting a possible location of a lost Egyptian city.

The Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities reports that temple remains have also been found at the site. Unfortunately, the temple is completely destroyed, making it difficult to gather more details.

The ministry’s statement indicates that the presence of the inscription and temple suggests Tell Abu Seifi could be the city of Misan. However, experts say further research is needed to reach a definitive conclusion.

The inscription and temple are of historical significance as they relate to ancient Egyptian history. If this site is indeed the city of Misan, it could be added to the list of ancient Egyptian cities.

It is noteworthy that a bronze seal and ancient coffin, dating between 304 and 30 BC, have also been discovered near Tell Abu Seifi.
