16 FBR officers found with dual citizenship, violating laws and raising transparency issues.
Islamabad: (RightNow) An investigation reveals that 16 officers of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) hold foreign citizenship. Among these, 10 are from the Inland Revenue Services and 6 from the Customs Service.
According to documents, 10 Grade 20 officers possess dual citizenship and green cards. Additionally, 5 Grade 19 officers also hold dual citizenship.
Under the 2026 rules, all government officers are required to disclose their foreign citizenship. Authorities have instructed these officers to submit their citizenship details.
The officers were directed to submit their dual citizenship details by July 8. However, several officers failed to submit the declaration within the stipulated time.
It is important to note that government officers with dual citizenship must disclose their citizenship under the law. Further action is expected following this revelation.
