Islamabad: (RightNow) PTI leader Murad Saeed has challenged the defamation ruling against him by Ahsan Iqbal in the Islamabad High Court. He seeks to nullify the 2.5 million rupees damages decree.

The appeal filed in court requests a stay on the district court’s decision until a final verdict is reached. Murad Saeed argues that the trial court’s decision contradicts solid facts.

It is noteworthy that on July 29, 2026, an Additional District Judge in Islamabad ordered Murad Saeed to pay damages to Ahsan Iqbal. Murad Saeed has now contested this decision in the High Court.

In his appeal, he stated that his press conference was based on official records and FIA data. The trial court overlooked judicial witnesses and the FIA report.

Murad Saeed claims that damages were imposed despite the lack of proven malice. He has requested the High Court to annul the district court’s decision.
