Islamabad: (RightNow) The Islamabad High Court has issued notices to the President, Prime Minister, and Ministry of Law over delays in appointing new judges. The court has requested a response within one day.

Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir questioned the stage at which the summary is stalled, demanding a reply by tomorrow. He expressed disappointment over the government’s failure to fulfill its responsibilities.

During the hearing, Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir expressed strong displeasure with the federal government, questioning its actions and suggesting a lack of interest.

The Justice noted that the confirmation of judges for Sindh and Peshawar High Courts is also pending, with 18 days having passed. He emphasized that the summary cannot remain unattended.

It is noteworthy that the petitioner’s lawyer stated the constitution is clear on the consequences of delays. The Additional Attorney General mentioned that the President can no longer reject the summary. The court adjourned the hearing until Tuesday.
