Strait of Hormuz: (RightNow) Iran has issued a stern warning to the US, stating that any warships entering the Strait of Hormuz outside the designated passage will be targeted. This statement was made by Mohsen Rezaee, advisor to Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei, during an interview on state television.

Mohsen Rezaee further stated that Iranian armed forces will not allow the US naval blockade to continue. He clarified that Iran will not permit the opening of any alternative maritime routes. The US Central Command reported that 44 commercial ships were redirected during the blockade.

According to a US Central Command spokesperson, two ships were disabled and two others were searched. Iran has labeled US military actions as a violation of the memorandum of understanding.

Mohsen Rezaee emphasized that if the US wants to reduce tensions, it must adhere to the memorandum of understanding agreed upon in June. Iran has expressed its commitment to improving arrangements for safe maritime navigation for global trade.

It is noteworthy that the US began its attacks on Iran when Iran targeted ships passing through unauthorized routes in the Strait of Hormuz. Mohsen Rezaee stated that the US must return Iran’s frozen financial assets and declare an end to the state of war.
