New Delhi: (RightNow) The Indian government has requested 24 hours to respond to students protesting over leaked exam papers. Demonstrators demand the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

According to a British news agency, negotiations occurred between the government and protesters following the demonstrations. Progress in talks is expected after social activist Sonam Wangchuk ended his hunger strike.

Thousands of students gathered in New Delhi, demanding the education minister’s resignation. Opposition parties supported the protesters and disrupted parliamentary sessions.

Federal ministers JP Nadda and Jitendra Singh represented the government in negotiations. Protesters were represented by leaders from the Cockroach Janata Party.

It is noteworthy that protesters’ demands include the education minister’s resignation, withdrawal of cases, and financial compensation for leaked exam papers.
