Lahore: (RightNow) Punjab has initiated drone monitoring for flood alerts for the first time. This step is taken under the directive of the Chief Minister to ensure timely identification of flood risks.

Officials have stated that surveillance of all barrages, rivers, and headworks is being conducted through Safe City drone surveillance. The aim is to timely identify water levels and flood streams.

During drone monitoring, the water level at Trimmu Barrage in Jhang remained normal. The flood situation in the Ravi and Sutlej rivers in Pakpattan was also assessed.

Additionally, water monitoring was conducted at Talibwala Bridge on the Chenab River in Sargodha and Head Sadhnai Barrage in Khanewal.

It is noteworthy that a low-level flood was recorded near Sahiwal, while the water flow at Head Marala in Sialkot was recorded at 174,000 cusecs.
