Mobile phone users face increased tax burden, receiving only Rs 72.77 on Rs 100 load.
Islamabad: (RightNow) Mobile phone users in the country are burdened by rising taxes. Users are forced to pay up to 34.5% tax on every mobile load.
When loading a balance of Rs 100, approximately Rs 29 is deducted as tax. This includes a 15% advance income tax, resulting in a deduction of Rs 13.04.
The remaining balance is subject to a 19.5% sales tax. Consequently, an additional Rs 14.19 is deducted as sales tax on a Rs 100 load.
Thus, on a Rs 100 load, users receive only Rs 72.77 as balance. Approximately Rs 27.23 is deducted in various taxes.
It is noteworthy that the government imposed these taxes on mobile users to reduce the fiscal deficit. These taxes are increasing the financial burden on consumers.
