Rawalpindi: (RightNow) Revelations by a foreign facilitator have uncovered a major terrorism network. The disclosures include extortion and the use of tailored religious decrees.

Illegal madrasas (religious schools) have been used to issue fatwas (religious decrees) under the guise of religion for terrorism. Arrested cleric Zafar Yab is reported to be associated with Jamia Nizam-ul-Uloom Bannu.

Following these revelations, there is a need to bring illegal madrasas under the jurisdiction of the National Action Plan and DGRE.

Zafar Yab revealed that he was an associate of foreign commander Hikmat Roshan and a member of the Gul Bahadur Shura. These commanders obtained unlawful religious decrees.

It is noteworthy that since 2019, the implementation of the agreement for the registration of illegal madrasas has been ongoing. Experts state that monitoring madrasas is crucial for curbing extremism.
