YouTube restricts monetization of AI-generated videos, urging creators to focus on human creativity.
San Francisco: (RightNow) Video-sharing platform YouTube has made significant changes to its monetization policy for the convenience of viewers. These changes aim to discourage low-quality and AI-generated content.
According to the new rules, YouTube has not completely banned the use of artificial intelligence. However, earnings from unauthentic and automated videos created solely for profit will be restricted.
Three types of artificial content will not be monetized, including AI-generated videos, sensational content, and advice on sensitive topics. YouTube’s Chief of Trust and Safety stated that the company is taking strict action against low-quality content.
This policy update is commercially important for YouTube as it competes with traditional TV networks and video platforms like Netflix. YouTube has taken this step to avoid low-quality content and maintain viewer interest.
It should be noted that YouTube’s new policy forces video creators to emphasize human creativity and originality. Creators of low-quality videos may be excluded from the earnings program.
