Lahore: (Right Now News) Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan’s leader, Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman, has announced nationwide protests on July 10 against the government’s failure to reduce petrol prices. He stated that the public will take to the streets due to the government’s inaction.

Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman, during a press conference, emphasized that the current petrol price should not exceed 225 rupees. He revealed that a tax of 118 rupees is being levied on petrol, and despite the LPG price being set at 241 rupees, it is being sold at 500 rupees per kilogram.

He labeled the levy as extortion and demanded its immediate removal. He accused the government of collecting billions through levies without improving refineries, stating that taxes are only being collected from the poor and middle class.

Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman criticized the government for lacking a policy to run the country. He blamed the government for failing to discover oil and mineral reserves and urged immediate work on the Pak-Iran gas pipeline.

It is noteworthy that Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman mentioned corruption of 1,300 billion rupees in the FBR, stating it burdens the public. He called Punjab government’s schemes an attempt to deceive the public.
