The nugget was found near Mount Stuart Station in Tibooburra. It weighs 1,200 grams, with 940 grams of pure gold.
The finder mentioned that usually only worthless items are found, but this time the metal detector succeeded.
The nugget was discovered with quartz particles. Its current market value ranges from $150,000 to $160,000.
It is noteworthy that Tibooburra’s gold prospecting history dates back to the 1880s, and the area remains a tourist attraction.
