Islamabad: (RightNow) Federal Minister Ahsan Iqbal assures efforts to provide relief to the public. He states that despite global oil price hikes, the government is striving to minimize the burden on citizens.

Ahsan Iqbal, after discussions with Jamaat-e-Islami leaders, mentioned that the economy suffered a major blow in 2018, and Pakistan is currently under an IMF program. He noted that tensions between Iran and the USA are causing oil prices to rise.

He emphasized ongoing efforts to reduce regional tensions to lower oil prices. Jamaat-e-Islami’s proposals will be considered and forwarded to relevant ministries.

Ahsan Iqbal announced that further negotiations with Jamaat-e-Islami will occur in three days. He welcomed constructive proposals to ease the public’s difficulties.

It is noteworthy that Jamaat-e-Islami proposed eliminating the PKR 80 levy on petrol and diesel. They suggested reducing non-developmental expenses to provide public relief.
