Islamabad’s High Court and district courts have over 64,000 pending cases, affecting justice delivery.
Islamabad: (RightNow) The backlog of pending cases in Islamabad’s High Court and district courts has been revealed. The High Court has 17,745 pending cases.
According to the report, district courts have accumulated 46,979 pending cases. In the past six months, 6,326 new cases have been filed in the High Court.
In the first half of this year, the High Court resolved 4,730 cases. District courts filed 56,708 cases and resolved 61,113 cases.
The High Court has 1,899 criminal cases and 15,846 civil cases pending. District courts have 29,092 civil and 17,887 criminal cases pending.
It is important to note that delays in court cases affect the delivery of justice. Timely hearings and resolutions are essential for public needs.
