Multan: (RightNow) PTI leader and former National Assembly member Hammad Azhar has been arrested. He has been handed over to Lahore police.

According to police sources, Hammad Azhar was detained in Multan. He was wanted in cases related to the May 9 incidents and had been a fugitive since 2023.

Authorities have stated that Hammad Azhar’s arrest is expected to advance the investigation. The search for other individuals involved in the May 9 incidents continues.

This event may increase pressure on PTI leaders. Hammad Azhar’s arrest has also impacted the party’s internal affairs.

It is noteworthy that Hammad Azhar previously served as the Federal Minister for Economic Affairs. After May 9, 2023, he went into hiding and only appeared publicly for his father’s funeral.
