Islamabad: (RightNow). Federal Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal states that creating 12 to 15 new provinces is essential to address administrative issues in Pakistan. He claims the current system cannot handle the population pressure.

Ahsan Iqbal, in an interview with Geo News, mentions that Sindh cannot be managed from Karachi and Punjab from Lahore. He suggests that each province should be divided on administrative grounds to provide better facilities to citizens.

He further adds that managing Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from Peshawar and Balochistan from Quetta is challenging. According to him, 160 empowered district governments could also be a solution.

Ahsan Iqbal emphasizes the need for administrative balance to improve Pakistan’s system. He notes that neighboring countries have created several new provinces since 1947, strengthening their systems.

It is noteworthy that Ahsan Iqbal mentioned the Sindh Assembly’s privilege to pass its resolutions. He stressed the importance of providing quality education, health, sanitation, and water, which are more significant issues than political slogans.
