Islamabad: (RightNow) The Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan registered 4,761 new companies in August 2026, raising the total number of registered companies in the country to over 311,765.

According to SECP, 99.9% of the registrations were completed online, with three foreign companies entering the market. The IT sector saw the highest growth with 872 new companies.

In August, 2,762 private and 1,846 single-member companies were registered. Punjab led with 2,547 registrations, followed by Islamabad with 843 and Sindh with 702.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa registered 407, Gilgit-Baltistan 151, and Balochistan 111 companies. Additionally, 134 foreign investors, including 106 from China, invested in new companies.

It is noteworthy that SECP states the increase in company registrations reflects business confidence and digital transformation, positively impacting the country’s economy.
