Islamabad: (RightNow) Pakistan has issued $3 billion in international Eurobonds. This is the largest single international bond in the country’s history, aimed at effective debt management.

According to the Ministry of Finance, this move will provide access to global investors. Pakistan is considering issuing more Eurobonds and Panda bonds.

The government states that the goal is to broaden the base of creditors, not to increase the overall external debt. This will improve the structure of external debt.

It is noteworthy that Pakistan issued its first Panda bond in May 2026, raising $250 million. Access to China’s capital market has also increased.

Remember, Pakistan traditionally relied on bilateral loans from China and Saudi Arabia. The government’s strategy is to diversify debt sources.
