Karachi: (RightNow) The ICC has transferred the hosting of the Women’s Champions Trophy from Sri Lanka to India. This decision was made due to government interference in Sri Lanka’s cricket affairs.

According to the ICC, Sri Lanka was initially set to host this historic tournament featuring six teams. However, due to board issues, the host was changed. Bangladesh and South Africa also expressed interest in hosting.

The ICC has advised Sri Lanka to continue implementing the reforms suggested in the July conference. India has been approved as the alternative host.

The tournament matches will be held in Mumbai and Vadodara, and the event will be in the T20 format. Six teams will compete against each other in the round-robin stage.

It is noteworthy that Australia, England, India, New Zealand, South Africa, and Sri Lanka will participate in the event. Unlike the men’s Champions Trophy, this women’s event will be played in the T20 format.
