Dubai: (RightNow) The start date for Ramadan 1448 Hijri in the United Arab Emirates has been announced. According to the International Astronomical Center, the first fast in the UAE is likely to be on Monday, February 8, 2027.

The International Astronomical Center has stated that the birth of the Ramadan moon will occur on Saturday, February 6, at 3:56 AM UTC. Astronomical calculations indicate that the moon sighting will be observed on February 6 and 7.

If the official religious calendar aligns with astronomical calculations, UAE citizens will begin fasting from February 8. The pre-arranged Hijri calendar also anticipates Ramadan to start on February 8.

Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic year during which Muslims fast. The start of Ramadan depends on the moon sighting, which can lead to different start dates in various countries.
