Ziad Bashir has been appointed as Chairman of the Pakistan Business Council, playing a significant role in economic policies.
Karachi: (RightNow) Ziad Bashir, Director of Gul Ahmed Textile Mills, has been appointed as the Chairman of the Pakistan Business Council. Syed Haider Ali from Packages Limited will serve as Vice Chairman.
At 48, Ziad Bashir is among the youngest to hold this position. He has been serving as the Vice Chairman of the council since February 2025.
Currently, the council comprises 102 companies, contributing 40% to national exports and 11% to GDP.
These changes aim to enhance the private sector’s effective representation in policy-making. The council has played a key role in the national economy.
It is noteworthy that the Pakistan Business Council was established in 2005 by 14 major business groups to ensure effective representation of the private sector.
