K4 Project Requires Additional 70 Billion for Completion Despite 86 Billion Spent

Karachi: (RightNow) Federal Minister for Water Resources, Moin Wattoo, revealed in the National Assembly’s Standing Committee that 86 billion rupees have been spent on the K4 project. The project is 40% complete, and an additional 70 billion rupees are needed.

During the meeting, MQM member Aminul Haque highlighted the delay in the K4 project. WAPDA Chairman, Lieutenant General (R) Muhammad Saeed, stated that there was a shortage of funds, but the Sindh government has paid 7.7 billion rupees.

The Federal Minister for Water Resources stated that water distribution is the responsibility of the provincial government, and more funds are required for the project’s completion.

Syed Waseem Aftab mentioned that the tanker mafia is active in Karachi, forcing people to buy water at high prices.

It is noteworthy that the drying of Kalri Lake has affected water supply, failing to meet Karachi’s water needs.
