Quetta: (RightNow) Monsoon rains in Balochistan have resulted in the deaths of 8 people and injuries to 16 others. Among the deceased are 4 children who lost their lives in various incidents.
According to the PDMA (Provincial Disaster Management Authority) report, lightning strikes and collapsing walls injured 16 people, including 13 children. In Khuzdar, 2 people, including a child, were killed.
In Zhob, lightning strikes and roof collapses claimed the lives of 4 people, including 3 children. The rains and flash floods have affected 41 homes.
In Khuzdar, Zhob, Harnai, and Barkhan, 17 homes were completely destroyed, while 24 homes suffered partial damage. The Meteorological Department has forecasted more rains.
It is important to note that monsoon rains in Balochistan often lead to accidents, causing severe difficulties for the local population.
