Rupee strengthens against dollar, reducing import costs and aiding inflation control.
Karachi: (RightNow) The rupee has strengthened in both foreign exchange markets. According to the State Bank, the interbank market saw a 3 paisa drop in the dollar rate, closing at 277.87 rupees.
According to the ECAP report, the open market saw a 4 paisa decrease in the dollar rate, reaching 279.82 rupees. The drop in the dollar rate could have positive effects on the local economy.
Officials have welcomed this change, stating that further improvement in the rupee’s value is expected in the future.
This news is significant for the national economy as a decrease in the dollar rate will reduce import costs and help control inflation.
It is important to note that in recent months, the rupee’s value had been consistently declining, leading to increased prices of imported goods.
