New York: (RightNow) Pakistan’s First Secretary Ansar Shah delivered a strong response to India’s statement at the United Nations Security Council. He stated that India’s remarks distort facts, compelling Pakistan to respond.

Ansar Shah clarified that there is no legal provision for the unilateral suspension of the Indus Water Treaty. He emphasized that India’s actions are illegal, and the arbitration court has upheld the treaty’s legal status.

He further stated that India’s attempt to pressure Pakistan through water resources violates international laws. Ansar Shah highlighted that this situation poses a threat to regional and global peace.

It is noteworthy that Ansar Shah also accused India of supporting terrorism. According to him, Indian-backed groups have killed thousands of civilians in Pakistan.

Ansar Shah mentioned that regarding Kashmir, India is violating the UN Charter and attempting to alter the disputed status of Jammu and Kashmir. He urged India to fulfill its legal obligations.
