Islamabad: (RightNow) The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has released details of damages caused by monsoon rains across Pakistan, including both human and financial losses. In the past 24 hours, 8 people have died and 16 have been injured in various incidents.

According to the NDMA report, since June 26, a total of 57 people have died and 148 have been injured. The deceased include 22 children, 18 men, and 17 women.

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 35 people have died, 10 in Punjab, 7 in Azad Kashmir, and 5 in Balochistan. Punjab has reported 72 injuries, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 61, Balochistan 13, and Azad Kashmir 2.

The rains have damaged 270 houses and 189 livestock have perished in the floods. Additionally, 4.5 kilometers of roads have been damaged. NDMA has issued a flood and landslide alert until July 24.

It is noteworthy that the intensity of monsoon rains has led to flood situations in various regions of the country, prompting the government to instruct relevant agencies to remain on alert.
