Islamabad: (RightNow) Thousands of fish have suddenly died in Rawal Dam, alarming residents. Dead fish are visible near Bani Gala and Dhoke Kuri Chowk, causing a strong stench in the area.

Residents report dead fish accumulating on the shores for several days. Locals recall that last year, hundreds of fish died due to toxic chemicals, but no effective action was taken.

Experts warn that if water pollution is not identified promptly, it could affect human health. After aquatic life, human life may also be at risk.

According to the district administration’s fisheries department, initial investigations attribute the fish deaths to water scarcity and intense heat. Further investigations are ongoing to confirm the presence of any chemicals.
