Islamabad: (RightNow) Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F) leader Fazlur Rehman rejects the imposition of governor rule and emergency in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He states this move is against democracy and vows to fight for constitutional rights on all fronts.

Fazlur Rehman, during a press conference, declared his party’s non-acceptance of the government’s decision. According to him, this is an attack on democracy and public rights, which is unacceptable.

He mentioned that the government decided to impose an emergency after negotiations with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf. Talks included ending the long march, but the government broke its promise.

Fazlur Rehman further stated that the emergency was imposed under the guise of terrorism in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He questioned why similar actions are not taken in Balochistan.

It is noteworthy that the President, after cabinet approval, imposed emergency and governor rule in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on October 11. The federal government took this step due to terrorism incidents.
