Islamabad: (RightNow) The federal government has approved the deployment of Rangers in Islamabad and various districts of Punjab in anticipation of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) potential long march on September 27. This measure is taken to maintain law and order.

Rangers have been granted full support under legal authority upon the request of the Islamabad Chief Commissioner and the Punjab government. The Ministry of Interior has issued directives for the comprehensive deployment of Rangers for this purpose.

According to the Ministry of Interior’s statement, the deployment of Rangers is carried out under the Pakistan Rangers Ordinance 1959 and the Anti-Terrorism Act 1997. Rangers and police have been instructed to respond to any disruptive attacks.

This action is significant as it will help control the law and order situation in Islamabad and districts of Punjab. Security forces have been directed to take complete measures.

It is noteworthy that the Punjab government had requested the federal government for the deployment of Rangers, and troops will be stationed in Rawalpindi, Attock, Jhelum, and Mianwali.
