Islamabad: (RightNow) In anticipation of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) long march, key highways in Islamabad and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have been closed. According to the Motorway Police, M1, M14, and Hazara Motorway are shut to all traffic from 11 PM.

M1 is closed from Islamabad Toll Plaza to Chach Interchange, and M14 from Hakla to Kundal. GT Road is also blocked at Attock Khurd and other locations.

To maintain law and order in the federal capital, 1,200 containers have been deployed. Entry points to the Red Zone are completely sealed.

As a security measure, over 22,000 security personnel are stationed in the city. Additional police officers have been called from Punjab and Sindh.

It is important to note that these measures are taken to ensure citizens’ safety and prevent any untoward incidents.
