New York: (RightNow) The United States plans to establish two new military bases in Greenland. One base will reactivate a former Cold War-era US base, while the other will be located in an area used by Denmark’s special forces.

According to news agencies, an agreement between the US, Denmark, and Greenland will be signed on Tuesday. This agreement will increase US military presence in southern and eastern Greenland.

Reports indicate that the US military base will be reestablished at Narsarsuaq in southern Greenland. This is the same location where a US base was operational during the Cold War but was later closed.

The second military center will be built in the eastern Greenland area of Mestersvig. This area is currently used by Denmark’s special forces unit, which patrols icy regions.

It is noteworthy that US President Trump has been pressuring Denmark regarding Greenland for several months. He has also expressed a desire to see Greenland under US control.
