Peshawar: (RightNow) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police has introduced digital driving licenses to modernize the licensing system. This facility will be available across the province, eliminating the need for a hard copy of the license.

Under the new system, citizens can obtain a digital license instantly by entering their ID card number through a mobile app. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Traffic Police has termed this initiative as a convenience for citizens.

Peshawar traffic police officers have been instructed to accept digital licenses as legal documents. Citizens will no longer face fines for only showing a digital license.

Chief Traffic Officer Peshawar, Dr. Muhammad Zahid, stated that this step is significant in effectively utilizing technology in the traffic police system. It will ease citizens’ access to licenses.

It is noteworthy that Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Muhammad Sohail Afridi, inaugurated the digital license management system three months ago, which has fully digitized the license issuance process.
