Islamabad: (RightNow) Prime Minister’s Advisor on Political Affairs, Rana Sanaullah, states that the Punjab Assembly resolutions concerning South Punjab and Bahawalpur are now ineffective. He revealed in a TV interview that these resolutions were passed 10 years ago and no longer hold practical value.

Rana Sanaullah explained that if a resolution is not implemented during an assembly’s tenure, it is up to the next assembly to approve or reject it. He mentioned that the Election Commission has issued a final warning to the government regarding local elections.

He further stated that the discussion on the formation of provinces should take place in parliament. The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) does not wish to engage in this debate and remains silent on the matter.

Rana Sanaullah clarified that the Prime Minister has not silenced Mohsin Naqvi. He emphasized that public referendums should be approved by parliament and conducted constitutionally.

It is noteworthy that complications will arise from the division without the consent of public representatives in Sindh, Punjab, and Balochistan. The PTI Chairman had also made a similar statement.
