Shailene Woodley explains her removal from Spider-Man 2 due to series changes.
Los Angeles: (RightNow) Hollywood actress Shailene Woodley revealed she was cast as Mary Jane Watson in the 2014 film ‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2’, but her scenes were cut. She was informed before the film’s release.
Shailene Woodley disclosed that Spider-Man was her favorite superhero and Mary Jane her favorite character, making her selection a delight. She filmed nearly three scenes with Andrew Garfield.
A year later, the actress was informed she would not be part of the film. It was explained that many new characters were being introduced, so Mary Jane was planned for a later film.
Filmmakers intended to complete the storylines of Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield’s characters. However, the third film in the series was not made, preventing Shailene Woodley’s return.
It is noteworthy that Shailene Woodley humorously remarked that perhaps her acting was poor, leading to her removal from the film.
