Federal Minister Abdul Aleem Khan orders AI tracking for law-breaking vehicles on motorways, aiming to enhance compliance and safety.
Islamabad: (RightNow) Federal Minister for Communications Abdul Aleem Khan has directed the implementation of artificial intelligence (AI) tracking for vehicles violating laws on motorways. He has instructed the NHA to make necessary amendments to the legal framework within a week.
The meeting was attended by heads of the NHA, motorway police, and other agencies. The federal minister instructed the removal of legal and operational barriers. Fines were also ordered for overweight factories.
Abdul Aleem Khan emphasized avoiding heavy decorative items. Freight vehicles must pass through weigh stations. A system using modern cameras and AI tracking will be implemented.
Instructions were given to establish weigh stations on GT roads similar to motorways. The decision was made to fully automate the weigh station system. Abdul Aleem Khan stated that a modern model weigh station in Sangjani will be completed soon.
It is noteworthy that in the past 6 months, there have been 30 thousand axle load violations. The federal minister has decided to personally visit 10 locations to review the implementation of the axle load regime.
