Islamabad: (RightNow) Federal Minister for Communications Abdul Aleem Khan chaired a meeting on axle load management. The meeting discussed the situation of axle load management on motorways.

The IG Motorways briefed Abdul Aleem Khan, stating that highways need further improvement. The federal minister directed to ensure the axle load limit for vehicles leaving Karachi Port.

Abdul Aleem Khan ordered the establishment of a transparent accountability system and heavy fines for violations. He stated that issues can be resolved with a joint strategy with provincial institutions.

He instructed the formation of a working group under the Secretary of Communications. The federal minister emphasized addressing the flaws in axle load laws.

It is noteworthy that overloading damages highways. The meeting was attended by the Secretary of Communications, DG FWO, and other key stakeholders.
