A Taiwan man discovers wife’s affair via robot vacuum, faces legal issues for secret recording.
Taipei: (RightNow) A man in Taiwan discovered his wife’s affair using a robot vacuum cleaner but ended up in legal trouble himself. The husband suspected his wife’s behavior in October 2023 and secretly investigated.
He used the robot vacuum cleaner to record and saw his wife with another person. He presented the video as evidence in court, demanding 2 million Taiwanese dollars in damages.
The court ruled in favor of the husband, ordering the wife and the other person to pay a fine of 500,000 Taiwanese dollars. However, the wife filed a lawsuit against the husband for secretly recording the private video.
The court sentenced the husband to 5 months in prison and fined him 150,000 Taiwanese dollars for recording the video without his wife’s consent.
It is important to note that in Taiwan, secretly recording someone’s private activities is a crime, punishable by imprisonment and fines.
