New Delhi: (RightNow) In Madhya Pradesh, India, over 40 grooms were left waiting at a mass wedding event, but no brides arrived.
Local sources report that an individual posing as a marriage matchmaker collected a $200 fee from the grooms’ families.
On the wedding day, all grooms, including Verma, arrived by 8 AM, but realized by evening they had been defrauded.
Police stated that the victims are from rural areas and aged between 20 and 40 years.
It is noted that police have filed cases against those involved in the fraud and have begun investigations.
